The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs will host the 7th annual Breakfast with Santa “Claws” event at Regency Furniture Stadium on Dec. 6.
In addition to the annual event, the Blue Crabs organization is once again asking for attendees to donate toys to benefit the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Toys for Tots. Fans who donate one (1) new, unwrapped toy at the Breakfast for Santa “Claws” event will receive two (2) complimentary tickets that are valid for any Blue Crabs game during the 2015 Opening Weekend against the Somerset Patriots. The Blue Crabs have set a goal of at least 350 toys donated by the community.
“Our organization is always looking for ways to give back to our community,” said Courtney Knichel, Assistant General Manager of Marketing & Special Events with the Blue Crabs. “An event like this gives us the chance to help a community that has supported us for over seven years. Combining our annual holiday event with the great cause of donating toys to the Greater Waldorf Jaycees has been a source of great success in the past and something that we look forward to every year.”
The Blue Crabs play 140 regular season games in the Atlantic League, considered the highest level of Minor League Baseball. Atlantic League players are “Major League ready” and in the last 16 years, over 600 players have graduated from Atlantic League clubs to Major League organizations, making the League a preferred route for experienced players to be scouted by Major League Baseball. The Blue Crabs play at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland. The franchise will look to open its 8th season on Friday, April 24, 2015.
